BitDefender Antivirus 2008 is a powerful antivirus application that protects your computer against viruses, spyware, phishing attacks, and rootkits. The program features a simple and intuitive user interface, which makes it really easy to use. The application scans files during boot, recently accessed files, packed files (although not archived files) and incoming and outgoing e-mails. It also blocks malicious ActiveX and JavaScript. As regards privacy protection, BitDefender looks for outgoing private information and guards against spyware attempting to be installed on your PC. This latest version of BitDefender has a new Gamer Mode, which removes any popups or warnings during game play while still protecting your computer. After a complete scan, BitDefender prepares a report, so you know exactly what your files do or do not contain and you can instruct BitDefender to disinfect or remove any infected files. Moreover, the program offers the live update feature, which checks for product and virus definition updates at either a user–defined interval, manually or default (every hour). Thanks to its customizable settings, BitDefender suits the needs of a great variety of users. And the best of all is that it is the cheapest antivirus in the market. |
